We are looking for works by:

Artist:
Harris, James (Harris of Swansea) (British, 1810-1887) - Oilpaintings on canvas
Place:
Lived and worked in Swansea, Great Britain.
Motifs:
Seascapes and Maritime Genre Scenes, Ship Portraits of Sailing Vessels
Prices:
Unfortunately there is no price range available as there were only very few paintings by this artist offered on the art market in recent years. Prices depend on subject, size, date, quality and condition. Please send us an e-mail to receive an exact offer for your work by this artist (free of charge for persons considering to sell their painting).
Notes:
Harris was a seafarer from 1828-35 and therefore knew the ships and their construction by heart. As a marine artist he was trained by George Chambers and created several fine seascapes and maritime genre scenes. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists".
Contact:
The FineArtEmporium is interested in the direct purchase of fine works (only ship portraits) by Harris and can pay a good price. Please refer to our page "Contact" and send an e-mail to bais@gmx.de with the information requested there. You will receive an answer usually within 48-72 hours (up to a week in rare cases).
