Petersen" and dated 1853 – good condition (relined, crackle, slight inpaint in the sky), valuable period frame - Provenance: 1853-1920 Capt. Bähr / his family, 1920-1926 Museum Altona (Hamburg), 1926 purchased back from the family, 1926-1999 Collection of the Captain`s Family in Hamburg - now Private Collection, Bremen

Note: A very detailled and finely executed early painting of Heinrich Petersen, strongly influenced by the ship portraits of his father Lorenz Petersen and his uncle P.C. Holm.
