Nautical Ephemera - Gilted brass Sextant on a base with two Female Ship`s Figureheads, ca. 1994 - all on a base of a gilted and decorated brass plate on hardwood. With a sign "The Maritime Sextant - National Maritime Historical Society", all golden parts are with real 22 Carat Gilting, in good condition. Dimensions of the item overall are 23 x 19 cm (9 x 7 1/2 in) and it is 12,5 cm (5 inch) deep - price: EUR 240 incl. shipping

Note: This item was issued to celebrate the 125 Years Anniversary of the Curry Sark. The sextant is not a model for nautical surveying, but an decorative object. An unusual item for the showcase of a maritime collection. Please note, that this item is not antique or vintage. The Cutty Sark was built in 1869 and the Anniversary was in 1994. Recréaction d'un sextant du XIXe siècle par le National Maritime Historical Society en commémoration du 125 è anniversaire du Cutty Sark. Réalisation en métal poli à la main, il est orné de représentations évoquant l'âge d'or de la marine à voile. Il repose sur une base travaillée comprenant deux figurines de proue rehaussées d'or 916 0/00 (22 carats). La base est elle même montée sur un socle en bois.
