Sale by Private Owner: Shipping in the Bristol Channel during the 1830s, with a merchant sailing ship in the foreground, painted by the artist in the first half of the 20th Century - Oil on board - 20 x 28,5 cm (8 x 11 1/4 inch) - with frame 33 x 42 cm (13x 16 1/2 inch) - signed "Rbt. Note: worked out in an excellent quality and with great detail and atmosphere. The artist did also some larger Yachting Race paintings in a classic execution and such paintings have been sold at Pounds 5,000 (US$ 10,000) in London and other places in the UK. This is a good chance to acquire a fine work by Robert Moore at a favorable price. Provenance: this painting was once acquired from the David Cross Gallery, Clifton, Bristol - a leading Fine Art Gallery in the West of England.
