Ship Portrait of the Finnish four-masted Barque "Lawhill", mid 20th Century - a broadside portrait of the vessel under full sail - signed lower left "K. Vihtakari" - Oil on board, spot of inpaint in upper right corner and in upper middle of sky, age signs on board left upper corner, otherwise ok - 47 x 60 cm (with frame 55 x 69 cm) - framed - Price: EUR 298 (shipping within Europe included)

Note: The "Lawhill" was built in 1892 at Caledon in Dundee, Scotland for Charles Barrie. In 1900 it was sold to Anglo-American Oil Company and again in 1914 to August Troberg in Finland where it became the largest Finnish Sailing Ship. In 1917 to Finnish Shipowner Gustaf Erikson bought it. Captain was Karl Reuben de Cloux. It had a long life and sailed until 1941 for Finland.
