Rescue of Passengers from the Ocean Monarch
A good way to recognize also unsigned artwork is to compare with illustrations of paintings of secured authorship. Therefore we supply these pages which contains more than 100 color illustrations from our archive.
Please note that this pages can help you only, if your painting has a maritime subject eg. with a ship, a coastal scene or a harbor and has been painted prior to 1923! If so please check the technique and the likely period and make your choice:
I) Oilpainting from 1780 to 1850 (two pages with pics)
II) Oilpainting from 1850 to 1923 (ten pages with pics)
III) Watercolor or Gouache from 1780 to 1850 (three pages with pics)
IV) Watercolor or Gouache from 1850 to 1923 (four pages with pics)
V) Reverse on Glass Painting from the period of 1780 to 1923 (one page with pics)
VI) Additionally: Identify Ship Portraits from 1780-1930 with the name of the vessel - See our Index
If you have not recognized the artist or want to confirm, who has executed your (unsigned) work and want to sell the painting we invite you to contact us for a free consultation. Please refer to "Contact" with further information.
